The LinkedIn Sales Navigator free trial

Who gets it, the date the charge lands, how to cancel without losing the month, and what to do once it is over.

    The short answer

LinkedIn gives eligible members one month of Sales Navigator Core for free. You need a card to start it. One month later it becomes a paid subscription at $119.99 a month unless you cancel at least one day before the renewal date. It is open to members with no paid LinkedIn subscription who have not had a free trial in the past 365 days.

When the month is up, SalesNavSplit sells the same official Core seat for $50 a month, on your own account, with a real invoice. No trial clock and no annual commitment.

    Your trial, day by day

    WhenWhat happens
Day 1You start the trial with a valid card. You get every Core feature, including the advanced search filters and 50 InMails.
Before the chargeSeven days before the end, LinkedIn emails you a reminder. Trials bought on Android get no reminder.
One day before renewalYour last safe day to cancel. After this point, the first paid month is charged.
One month after day 1The trial turns into a paid subscription. $119.99 on the monthly plan, plus tax where it applies.

Three rules that catch people out

    Cancelling ends it at once

Cancel a paid plan and you keep it until the end of the month. Cancel a trial and the features go immediately. Set a reminder two days before the end instead of cancelling on day one.

    Premium rules you out

A trial of any LinkedIn plan in the past 365 days rules you out, and so does a paid Premium subscription today. You also cannot switch between plans for free during a trial.

    Android gets no reminder

LinkedIn emails a reminder seven days before the first charge, except for trials bought on Android. If that is you, put the end date in your calendar yourself.

Keeping the seat through us? Cancel your LinkedIn trial when you place the order, not days before. Cancelling a trial ends access at once, and activation takes place within two business hours European time, so that keeps the gap to a couple of hours while making sure LinkedIn never charges you for the first month. The seat is an official LinkedIn Sales Navigator license on your own account. We never ask for your password, and you get a full refund if the seat cannot be activated. Is it safe?

    Frequently asked questions

Does LinkedIn Sales Navigator have a free trial?

Yes. LinkedIn offers eligible members a free month of Sales Navigator Core. You need a valid card to start it, and it turns into a paid subscription one month after you started unless you cancel at least one day before.

How long is the Sales Navigator free trial?

Usually one month. LinkedIn says trial length can vary with region and promotional terms, so check the end date shown when you start. It is also in your subscription settings.

Who is eligible for the free trial?

LinkedIn offers it to members who are not on any paid LinkedIn subscription, Premium included, and who have not used a LinkedIn free trial in the past 365 days. So if you pay for Premium Career or Premium Business today, you do not qualify. The trial exists for Core and for Advanced.

What happens when the trial ends?

It renews as a paid subscription on the billing date, one month after the trial started. On the monthly plan that is $119.99 for Sales Navigator Core, plus tax where it applies. LinkedIn emails you a reminder seven days before the trial ends, except for trials bought on Android.

How do I cancel the trial without being charged?

Cancel from your subscription settings on LinkedIn at least one day before the renewal date. If you started it inside the iPhone or Android app, cancel it through that app store. Cancelling a trial ends your access straight away, so set a calendar reminder two days before the end rather than cancelling on day one.

Can I get a second free trial?

Not within 12 months. Once you have used or cancelled a Premium trial, LinkedIn will not give you another free plan for at least a year. A new LinkedIn account to get around it breaks LinkedIn's rules and puts your real account at risk.

What is the cheapest way to keep Sales Navigator after the trial?

LinkedIn's own cheapest route is annual billing, $1,079.88 upfront, which works out at $89.99 a month. SalesNavSplit sells the same official Core license at $50 a month with no annual commitment, or $40 a month paid yearly at $480. The trade-off is that your lists and saved searches reset every 30 days.
